Fr. Christopher Siluvai Rayan was born on April 8, 1973, in the State of Tamil Nadu, India. After completing his seminary studies at the Sacred Heart Seminary, Chennai (India), he was ordained priest on April 22, 2001 for the Diocese of Kottar. Since the diocese was later bifurcated, now he belongs to the newly erected Diocese of Kuzhithurai. He has served 6 parishes as Pastor and also served as financial Administrator and Managing director to different offices in both Kottar and Kuzhithurai dioceses. Other than his ecclesiastical qualification of Philosophy and Theology, he holds master degrees in Sociology, Commerce, Business Administration and he is also professionally qualified as Company Secretary. He is very grateful to Archbishop Alexander Sample for accepting his request to serve the Archdiocese of Portland and very excited to serve as Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph’s Parish, Salem with Msgr. Huneger and his pastoral team.
